Michigan woman faces methamphetamine charges

Methamphetamine is a synthetic stimulant that is banned in the state of Michigan because of its potential to be highly addictive and because it has no current accepted medical uses. Because possession of meth is considered to be a serious crime, being caught with even a small amount of the drug can mean severe consequences, including a felony charge being added to your record and spending up to a decade behind bars.

A Michigan woman may be faced with these penalties after she was arrested recently. The woman had warrants out for her arrest for contempt of court and destruction of property. When authorities were tipped off to where she was, they went to the residence with a search warrant. They reportedly found multiple one-pot meth labs and materials used to make meth along with other illegal drug paraphernalia.

The 28-year-old woman was at home when authorities arrived to perform the search. She was taken into custody for her outstanding warrants and booked into jail. Once authorities finish their investigation, she will likely face multiple charges in addition to her original charges, including operating and maintaining a meth lab along with possession of meth and marijuana.

Because so much is at stake here, the woman would be well advised to secure a lawyer. An attorney can go over her options with her and decide how to best proceed with her case. In addition, the lawyer can help her navigate the often confusing legal system and be there to represent her in court when the time comes.
