Teacher faces hearing after criminal sexual conduct with student

It seems as though the conduct of many teachers steps outside the boundaries of traditional student-teacher relationships. A 46-year-old teacher at Hartford High School, about 30 minutes outside Kalamazoo, allegedly crossed the line and has been accused of criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old student.

Kalamazoo law enforcement raid meth home, arrest three

Those who make and sell drugs from their home may be under investigation by law enforcement. That is the message that the Kalamazoo COPS Unit brought home after raiding a meth home in Vicksburg, about a half-hour outside Kalamazoo, on Jan. 5.

Marijuana, mushrooms seized in morning-time Michigan traffic stop

Kalamazoo residents and readers of this blog are well aware of police efforts to crack down on controlled substances. Often, police will use a traffic stop as an excuse to search a vehicle, as we discussed in a post last month. More recently, a traffic stop in Burr Oak, a little over an hour outside Kalamazoo, led to a seizure of marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms by St. Joseph County police officers.
