Couple found by police wanted in 2012 crime spree

A 34-year-old man and his 22-year-old girlfriend, who referred to themselves as Bonnie and Clyde, were both taken into custody in Michigan. The man was wanted in connection with several home invasions that reportedly took place in the summer of 2012. He was charged with first-degree home invasion, receiving and concealing a firearm knowing it to be stolen and possession of a firearm by a felon. In addition, he was charged with being a habitual offender.

Michigan man faces OWI charges in crash that left 1 injured

Police took a Kingsley man into custody for allegedly driving drunk after they located his heavily damaged pickup truck on River Road shortly after 3 a.m. in East Bay Township on Dec. 6. The 27-year-old man, who was apprehended in a vehicle parked at a nearby hospital, faces charges of operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

2 Ironwood men face felony drug charges after raid

Two Michigan men have been charged with felony drug crimes following a major police raid that resulted in six arrests on Dec. 2. The raid took place around 8 a.m. at a residence on the 200 block of Oak Street in Ironwood.

Getting a criminal conviction expunged

Michigan residents with a criminal conviction on their record may be able to have the conviction expunged from their public record if they meet certain criteria. Expungement of a criminal conviction means the conviction cannot be found during a criminal record check. However, the conviction will still be available for viewing by the court, law enforcement agencies and certain licensing and government agencies.

Certain kinds of assault in Michigan are punishable in the state as felony offenses. Felony level assault offenses include all those that involve the use of dangerous weapons, including such things as knives, guns, iron bars, clubs, brass knuckles, pistols or revolvers, without any intent to cause the death of the other person or to cause the other person great bodily injury.
